User Preferences

Engineering Development Hub remembers a small set of personal preferences for each user. Your preferences follow your account, so they apply on any browser or device you sign in from, and they never affect other users.

You manage them from My Account, in the Preferences card.

Change a preference

  1. Open My Account from the user menu in the top navigation bar.
  2. Find the Preferences card.
  3. Change any setting. Edited rows are highlighted so you can see what will change before you save.
  4. Click Save to apply your changes, or Discard to undo them.

Each setting shows where its current value comes from: your own choice, a default set by your administrator, or the built-in default.

Available preferences

Preference What it does
Interface language Sets the language of the web interface. See Choosing your language.
Desktop thumbnail privacy Blurs the preview thumbnails of your virtual desktops so their contents are not visible at a glance.

More preferences over time

The list of available preferences grows as new features are added. Any preference your administrator has enabled appears automatically in the Preferences card.

Reset a preference

  • To reset a single preference to its default, use the Reset control on that row.
  • To reset everything back to defaults, use Reset all.

Resetting removes your saved choice and returns the setting to the default value set by your administrator (or the built-in default).

Choosing your language

The web interface is available in multiple languages. To change it, set Interface language in the Preferences card and save. The interface reloads in your chosen language, and your choice is remembered for next time.

Supported languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Spanish (Mexico), Portuguese (Brazil), Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), and Chinese (Traditional).

If a preference makes the interface hard to use

If a saved preference ever leaves the interface in a state you cannot easily fix, add one of these options to the end of the site address in your browser:

  • ?noprefs loads the interface once while ignoring your saved preferences, so you can get back in and correct the setting.
  • ?resetprefs loads the interface and clears all of your saved preferences.

Administrator defaults

Administrators can set the default value of a preference for the whole cluster. When they do, that value is what you see until you set your own.
